From Year 9 (G8) onwards, all pupils have access to Google Gemini for Education, a secure school-specific version, designed with safeguarding and data privacy at its core. Before gaining access, every pupil completes a dedicated 90-minute session entitled ‘Teaching Responsible Use of AI’. This foundational lesson equips students with the knowledge and critical understanding they need to use these powerful tools responsibly and ethically.
By the time pupils reach the Sixth Form (Grades 11 & 12), they engage with the broader implications of AI through digital enrichment courses and the IDEA Programme. From September 2025, we will be launching a bespoke Sixth Form AI course designed to develop the understanding of AI fundamentals, build practical skills, support critical evaluation, and encourage subject-specific applications. This course, once again, has been shaped by a recent audit of pupil feedback to ensure it is tailored to their interests and needs.
